Arrival at the Vienna International Airport

Between 1 May and 3 May 2017, upon arrival at the Vienna International Airport, please go to the Airport Services VIE/Jaadcar Drive Now desk (see below) to collect your information package and a free public transport ticket (underground/tram/bus) valid for the duration of the Games.

PLEASE WRITE YOUR NAME ON YOUR PUBLIC TRANSPORT TICKET - OTHERWISE IT IS NOT VALID!

ÖBB Train

If you are traveling to Vienna by train, you will need to purchase a ticket from the airport to the Vienna City border at a cost of €1.70.  The UNIAG Organizing Committee will reimburse you the amount of € 1.70 for your ticket with the ÖBB train (upon presentation of your ticket to the UNIAG Organizing Committee at the time of registration).

The ÖBB railjet train (“Schnellbahn”) service serves Vienna International Airport via Vienna Main station (“Wien Hauptbahnhof”) twice an hour.

Please buy your ticket directly from the ÖBB ticket vending machine and take the train from platforms 1 or 2.

"Schnellbahn" S7

An alternative to the ÖBB railjet train is the "Schnellbahn" S7 with end station "Floridsdorf". This train stops at several underground stops within Vienna, the closest to the VIC being the U1 (red line) at "Praterstern". The ticket to the Vienna City border also costs €1.70.

City Airport Train (CAT)

Alternatively, you may consider using CAT that will drop you directly at the “Wien Mitte” station to change to underground U3 (orange line) or U4 (green line). The CAT-platform at the airport is a five-minute walk from the Check-in hall and the baggage claim area - please follow the signage. (See map)

Please note that the fare price is € 11.00 per person and you would have to cover the price difference comparing to the price of a ticket with the ÖBB railjet train (“Schnellbahn”).

Airport Bus

The Vienna Airport Lines bus also travels quickly, directly and comfortably from the Vienna International Airport into the Vienna city centre or “Donaustadt”, and back.

In case you are staying at one of the hotels across from the Vienna International Centre (VIC) we advise you to take VAL 3. (See map)

The VAL 3 route connects “Donaustadt” and the Vienna International Airport once an hour. The Vienna Airport Lines bus stops at the following points: Donauzentrum - Kagraner Brücke - Hotel NH Danube City - Kaisermühlen/VIC - Krieau - Stadion-Center - Donaumarina - Vienna International Airport.

The fare price is € 8.00 per person and you would have to bear the price difference comparing to the price of a ticket with the ÖBB railjet train (“S-Bahn”).

All stops feature great links with Vienna’s wider public transport network - in most cases stopping directly outside an underground station.
