Welcome to the 2026 Inter-Agency Games Table Tennis Tournament. Whether you’re a seasoned looper or a strategic pusher, this year’s competition promises high energy, fair play, and the unique camaraderie that only the IAG can provide.
I am Roland, your Table Tennis Coordinator. As a fellow enthusiast of the sport, I’ll be managing the tournament schedule, match draws, and administration to ensure a seamless experience for every athlete. The Tournament at a Glance
Get ready for two days of intense rallies and tactical play.
Captains’ Meeting: 6 May 2026
Dates: 7 – 8 May 2026
Time: Matches commence at 09:00 AM daily and may run until late evening 08:00 PM.
Venue: Table Tennis will take place indoors at Lyttos Beach in the tennis building.
Format: A team-based structure combining singles and doubles. The specific format (Round-robin or Knockout) will be tailored to the final registration numbers.

Equipment
Standard table tennis equipment will be used throughout the tournament. Tables and balls will be provided at the sport venue.
Participants are required to bring their own rackets. If you require equipment, please indicate this during registration so we can explore limited rental or loan options.
Rules Framework
The Table Tennis Tournament will be conducted in accordance with the established Inter-Agency Games framework, complemented by the applicable international rules of table tennis. These provisions are designed to ensure fair play, consistency, and a shared understanding among all participants.
Location
The tournament will be held at an indoor sports facility associated with the IAG 2026 Games. The venue offers a controlled playing environment suitable for both competitive and recreational participants. Further details, including directions, will be shared closer to the event.
Facilities
The venue will include 5 competition tables, seating for spectators, and basic amenities such as changing rooms and rest areas.
Tournament Registration – What You Need to Do
To compete in the Table Tennis Tournament, you must be fully registered as player.
Participation Disclaimer
By registering for the Table Tennis Tournament, participants confirm that they possess a sufficient level of proficiency in table tennis, including a working knowledge of the rules, match etiquette, and basic gameplay.
While beginners are welcome, all players are expected to demonstrate a minimum level of readiness to ensure fair and efficient play.
Participants who do not meet these minimum standards, including first-time players with no prior experience, may be denied participation and reassigned to supporter status at the discretion of the organizers.
Practice sessions
Due to the limited number of tables, brief warm-up sessions ahead of the games will be arranged at the Venue. More details will be shared soon.
Table Tennis Men:
(16 – 12 Teams, to be decided during captains meeting)
Use 2 tables for the matches on the 2 days
Day 1: Round-Robin Preliminary Stage
- Morning Session (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM):
- Create four groups: Group A, B, C and D with 4 teams each.
- Teams within each group will play a round-robin format. This means each of the 4 teams plays against the other 3 teams once, and for each encounter, we will use the format Best of 5 Sets (3 out of 5)[1].
- Given the limited number of tables, encounters will be scheduled on the 3 tables for the 4 groups, hence possibility extended the length of the overall tournament.
- Lunch Break (12:00 PM – 1:00 PM)
- Afternoon Session (1:00 PM – 8:00 PM):
- Teams in Groups will continue their round-robin matches.
Day 2: Knockout Stage and Finals
- Morning Session (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM):
- Based on the results from the preliminary stage, the top 2 teams from each group to create an 8-team knockout stage in the first league.
- If agreed during the captains meeting, a second league will be constructed from the 3rd and 4th teams of each group. (these games will be conducted only if time permits)
- Conduct first league quarterfinal matches in the knockout stage. We will use the format Best of 5 Sets (3 out of 5).
- Conduct second league quarterfinal matches in the knockout stage. We will use the format Best of 3 Sets (2 out of 3) – To be confirmed at captains meeting.
- Lunch Break (12:00 PM – 1:00 PM)
- Afternoon Session (1:00 PM – 6:00 PM):
- Semi-finals are played on a single central table, with matches being best of 5 games.
- Winners of the semi-finals advance to the final, which can also be best of 5 games.
Table Tennis Women:
(14-10 Teams, to be decided during captains meeting)

- Given the limited number of tables, encounters will be scheduled on the 2 tables for the 4 groups, hence possibility extended the length of the overall tournament.
