Hello,
I need to get in contact with Table Tennis focal point regarding the make up of teams as we may be too large of a team and if there are people without a team we can offer one of ours to make new team.

Dear Steven, just a quick question regarding the medical certificates
From the invitation letter, it is not clear what type of certificate is required:
“Medical certificates: It is recommended that, for their own safety, participants consult with their general practitioner before engaging in any sporting activity and have their medical certificate on hand. Participants and supporters are responsible for their own medical insurance. The host organization will not be held liable.”
The FAO Health Services only issues certificates for “attività ludico-motoria”. To obtain certificates for “attività sportiva non agonistica” (with electrocardiogram trace/report), or “attività sportiva agonistica”, participants will need to get certificates from their local doctors/external doctors.
Could you inform us which one of the two is the right one?
Thank you in advance
FAO Staff Coop
Hi, medical certificates are not mandatory this year but the organisers of the Games recommend that participants verify that they are of good health and fit to participate in the tournament. Ultimately, it is each players own responsibility.

I would love to see sailing and wind surfing as a discipline. The last time it was held was in Italy and Austria. It’s a discupline that could be rotated depending on the location and facilities
Hi Organizers,
can you tell us why Beach Volleyball has been dropped? It’s been a popular event in the last IAGs.
Timo
I don’t have an answer unfortunately (only a contingency of sad beach volleyball players) but maybe use the contact form to write UNESCO directly and raise some hell!
Hi, this is Susana Alvarez, focal point for WTO. I’m posting a question here because I’m out of the office this week and unfortunately I forgot to bring the e-mail addresses with me. I have three men volleyball players looking to form or join a team and they would like to know if there are any players from one of the organizations in Geneva also looking for a team. If so, could we have their contact information so they all can get in touch? Thanks.
We would like to add squash to the confirmed disciplines, or be able to organise a side-event for this sport as we did in Vienna. There is enough demand and already 4 different teams.
No squash unfortunately this year 🙁 But you could use the contact form to write UNESCO directly to inquire about an informal event!
Hi!
Where can I find the competition schedule? I couldn’t get it in the website for this year.
Thank you!
Barbara
Hi, it will go up shortly before the start of the competitions. We can only draw the schedules once all the teams are confirmed. But generally competitions will last all day.
Thanks Stephen,
I will contact the focal person for the sport to find out more.
Best regards
I was wondering if 100 and 200 meter sprint races could be added to the games. For athletics I think only 400 meters are available.
Can 100 and 200 meters be made an option for Athletics?
Dear Bala, this would have to be a broader discussion which would have to start from the captains. Why not bring it up with your captain and discuss it with other athletes at the Games? Unfortunately I cannot contribute because the thought of me sprinting is like a fish dreaming of climbing a tree.
best regards from Vienna
Steven
Looking for a focal point for UNGSC UNLB Brindisi Italy. Can not find any focal point to register.
URGENT:
One of my players cannot register as Cricket is not listed as a sport for IAG-2019. I can forward the email they received.
Due to this, I am afraid there may be more people will miss the opportunity to register to play Cricket.
He works for WMO (World Meteorological Organisation), Geneva.
Could you please advise?
Dear Wajira,
Cricket is confirmed as a discipline, your players can register! Please let them know that they can do this through their focal points.
Best regards
Steven
IAEA (Vienna) will field a women’s football team and will likely have extra players interested in case other teams need players.
It is really disappointing that squash is not featured as an official game, especially as Lisbon has many squash courts. We hope to organise a parallel event, as in Vienna.
Can I please get more information on the swimming events?
Dear June,
UNESCO will have a dedicated coordinator for swimming who will have all the info your looking for. We are hoping to publish more detailed info as soon as we can. In the meantime, you can check out the rules on website to find out how the competition will be conducted. The pool will be 50m.
best regards
Steven
Hello Everyone,
I am very interested in participating in the Athletics discipline but I have no team from my CO. Can I register to participate and make a team once I get there or with other colleagues from other countries?
Thank you for your guidance.
Yes you can! Please register through your organization’s focal point.
best regards
Steven
Sorry, I think we are against the time and we need more information. Many thanks.
Mah l know the rea son why there is not beach volley this year considering that last year 8 team participated in this discipline?
Indeed I was also wandering if there was marathon running or cross country running…disciplines in athletics…
Dear Steven,
Could you please elaborate a little about the Athletics, I am a marathon runner and would like to know if there are disciplines with Athletics that I could join?
Check out the rules for more info:
