Getting your visa to participate

UNESCO’s IAG Organizing Committee is working very hard getting all of your visa applications through in a timely manner, you can imagine how much work that is.

There are many avenues that some of you are taking in order to receive their support documentation, be it through the website, social media or direct email contact. However, requests for visa support should ONLY be made through your Focal Point. Individual requests can not be addressed on a ‘one-on-one’ basis by UNESCO. Please understand that the visa support unit in UNESCO is at a critical point where they are verifying requests for visas with the received registrations.

Focal points have the full support of both the IAG Secretariat and the UNESCO organizing team in providing this service to their participants so they will for sure be able to answer any questions you may have to get your support. Vice versa, as long as you communicate transparently with them, they will be able to effectively liaise with the visa unit so there is no second guessing whether any visa request is legitimate.

So, to summarize what to do:

  1. Be sure about your participation;
  2. Inform your Focal Point about your intent to participate and ask him about your available options and visa requirements;
  3. If you want to join, register with your focal point and inform him that you will need support with your visa;
  4. Train hard, train everyday;
  5. Bring home the gold!

    I am really disappointed. I have registered also myself for this game from Pakistan, no body giving response the people who are leading and coordination the process in here is trying to demotivate the interested applicants instead of motivation and no body sent me SFP list of my area and agency.Kindly I request the IAG leading committee to communicate and emphasis on visa issuance with concerning embassy in Pakistan to facilitate the visa issuance for Pakistan nationals works for United Nations.That is third time I miss UN Inter Agency Game, I m trying in time contact with concerning person and no body giving positive response. What happen I don’t know

We kindly request the IAG leading committee to communicate and emphasis on visa issuance with portugal embassy in India and Pakistan to facilitate the visa issuance for Afghan nationals works for United Nations.. Many times Afghan UN staff have been disrespected, discredited and ignored to reveive EU visa. If the visa has not been issued so in future non of UN staff will be able to apply for any UN event and will lose their trust on such events in future.

  4. I am really disappointed. I have registered also myself for this game from Afghanistan, but the people who are leading and coordinating the process in here is trying to demotivate the interested applicants instead of motivating and showing support. They say that there is no any back support from UN for Afghan applicants in terms of getting visa. it means that no one is interested for helping Afghan applicants. I did not believe that this much discrimination could exist among united nation as well where everyone is talking about the human rights. I am not talking about financial support . At least I was expecting the we will be given a recommendation letter as a supportive document for getting visa from United nation address since we are working for them and we will be attending in this game from their address. Yesterday we had a meeting on these issues especially about the visa in UNOCA compound in Afghanistan, but unfortunately in the meeting every answer was negative for Afghan applicants.
