In memoriam – Daniel ‘Danny’ Bridi

In Loving Memory of Daniel ‘Danny’ Bridi

President of the IAG Secretariat, Friend, Mentor, and kind Soul

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend, Daniel “Danny” Bridi, who left us peacefully this morning, 27 June 2025, in the company of his closest family.

To all of us, Danny was more than a colleague. He was the heart and soul of the UN Inter-Agency Games. He was a mentor, a leader, and a gentleman. His contributions to the Games went far beyond the call of duty; he nurtured a community. Through his tireless dedication and unyielding passion, he transformed the IAG into what it is today, touching the lives of thousands across generations and organizations.

His love for the Games was unparalleled, undisputed, and enduring. Through sport, Danny brought people together in the spirit of solidarity, fairness, kindness, and joy. He inspired all of us to strive not only for excellence on the field but for connection, dignity, and mutual respect off it.

The IAG family mourns a true champion of our values, yet even in our grief, we take comfort in the legacy he leaves behind. We will carry it forward with pride and gratitude, remembering always what he taught us: that what connects us matters far more than what separates us.

Danny leaves behind a loving family to whom he was endlessly devoted. The pride he held in his son Julian was boundless, and that pride will surely echo from his final resting place for eternity.

We will pray for him, and we will forever be grateful for his leadership, his friendship, and above all, his generous spirit. May his memory continue to unite and inspire us.

Rest in peace dear friend.

Please convey your condolences to secretariat [at] interagencygames [dot] org should you wish to do so, we will pass your messages on to his family.

  3. Dear Steven,

Thank you very much for your email conveying the sad news of my friend Danny passing away to the family of UNIAG, the legacy of Danny since the creation of UNIAG.

It’s very sad to loose a dear friend whom I knew for many years since the creation of UNIAG. Not many people are aware that Danny was very good Table Tennis player also. His contribution as a TT player strengthened the IAEA team over the years.

I had good memories of Danny while playing against him in the TT tournaments in the IAG.

in the initial years of IAG, his contribution to TT was very challenging to other teams.

His devotion and commitment to the evolution of UNIAG is priceless.

He will be remembered with a loving memories for ever.

My sincere condolences to his family and pray to God to give them strength to bear this loss.

    God bless his soul.

  9. Oh Danny, how sad to see you go so soon. It has been an honor to prepare the 50th edition of the games with your help and knowledge. We shared some wonderful moments together in Rennes and I know you were happy to be able to take part in this anniversary edition and to be able to revise your French with the UNESCO team. You were a pillar of the IAG and we’ll miss you terribly.
