Welcome to the Cricket discipline of the 51st United Nations Inter-Agency Games. Cricket at the IAG is a celebration of “the gentleman’s game,” emphasizing sportsmanship, skill, and inter-agency camaraderie.

Competition Overview

The 2026 Cricket tournament will be held over two days in the beautiful coastal region of Hersonissos, Crete. The format is designed to be fast-paced, inclusive, and competitive for all skill levels.

  • Dates: 07 May & 08 May 2026
  • Time: 09:00 – 17:00
  • Format: 6-a-side (Five overs per innings)
  • Location: Gipedo Hersonisou (Football Field), Hersonissos, Greece.

Discipline Coordinator

Mr. Saurabh LUTHRA Mr. Luthra is a seasoned cricketer based in Vienna, Austria. He is an active player for the United Nations Cricket Club (UNCC) and represents the Austrian Cricket Association in local leagues. His expertise ensures a high standard of organization and fair play for the tournament.

Venue & Facilities

The matches will take place at the Hersonissos Football Field, repurposed into a custom cricket oval for the Games.

  • Surface: Natural grass field.
  • Amenities: * Complimentary drinking water will be available for all participants.
    • There is a bar/café located in the immediate vicinity for refreshments and socializing between matches.

Rules & Scoring

he competition follows the official IAG Cricket Discipline Rules:

  1. Team Composition: 6 players on the field. Teams may register up to 8 players (6 + 2 reserves). Mixed-agency teams are encouraged for individual registrants.
  2. Match Length: Each innings consists of 5 overs.
  3. Bowling: Every fielder (except the wicket keeper) must bowl one over.
  4. Batting: A batsman must retire “not out” upon reaching 31 runs.
  5. Equipment: Players are expected to bring their own full cricket kit (bats, pads, gloves, helmets). The organization will provide match balls.
  6. Scoring: To maintain the traditional spirit of the game, scoring will be conducted manually on paper Scoresheets by designated officials.
